Norfolk Island Goes Country

Norfolk Island is one of the most natural places on the planet where cows and chickens roam the roads freely. With stunning sea views and natural bush land it is bound to take your breath away. This tour of Norfolk is a little different to past years and we are incorporating a bit country.

Our Norfolk Island tour is fully escorted by Cardwells and is all inclusive. 


Day 1 - Thursday 17th  DEPART MELBOURNE - SYDNEY 


All Aboard! This afternoon we make our way down to Melbourne Tullamarine airport where we will board a Qantas flight to Sydney International Airport. On arrival in Sydney we will be transferred to our overnight accommodation to the Quality Hotel Sydney Airport have a relaxing evening and enjoy dinner. 


Day 2 - Friday 18th ARRIVE NORFOLK - NIGHT AS A CONVICT 


Today we make our way to Norfolk Island enjoy a hearty breakfast before boarding the shuttle to the International Terminal. Proceed through airport formalities as you will be flying with Air New Zealand to Norfolk Island. Upon arrival we will be met by our ground operator and transferred to our Hotel for the next 7 nights which is Castaway. Tonight is when the fun starts to begin join in as Night as a Convict. Dress up as a convict (outfits supplied) with the Commandant for an evening of gaiety, feasting, singing and dancing, guaranteed allot of laughs and great food.


Day 3 - Saturday 19th HALF DAY ORIENTATION TOUR - DINNER AT PARADISE RESORT


After breakfast this morning, enjoy a Half Day Orientation Tour around the Island.  Visit the historic Kingston, Cascade, Long ridge and much more.  See and hear about the famous convict buildings, beautiful beaches and golf course, the renowned Melanesian Chapel, local Government Laws and Lifestyle. Enjoy views from scenic spots on this full commentary conducted tour. Moring tea is also included.  The rest of the afternoon is at your own leisure to go an explore some of the places you have visited a little bit further. Dinner tonight is at the Paradise Resort Hotel where they will serve an enjoyable two course meal.



Day 4 - Sunday 20th CONVICT SETTLEMENT TOUR - FLETCHERS FATE MYSTERY DINNER - UPCOUNTRY BAR 



Have a relaxing to the start of the day while waking in what Captain Cook claimed as paradise, this morning is at your own leisure. This afternoon enjoy a Convict Settlement Tour which will do an in-depth tour of the fascinating history of Georgian Settlement of Kingston. Walk through the cemetery and hear the history of interesting convict and colonial headstone and hear stories of the houses along Quality Row. Walk through the ruins of new gaol; see the Pier Store, boat shed and the crank mill concluding of the tour we will have a chance to stop and enjoy some afternoon tea. Tonight we are in for a treat as we enjoy dinner and a show Fletchers Fate Mystery Dinner an evening of interactive theatre, and mystery. This entertaining play examines the possible last movements and final whereabouts of the famous mutineer, Fletcher Christine. The Show proceeds whilst you are enjoying a sumptuous 3 course dinner. UpCountry Bar is a licensed and open each night Sunday to Friday and you're welcome to go along if you want to. You'll need to make your own way to the bar where artists, locals and visitors mix and mingle and kick up their heels. Seating is removed and Country Rock is on the agenda, so make sure you have your dancing shoes on. 


Day 5 - Monday 21st TIN - A - AII DINNER AT SOUTH PACIFIC HOTEL - NEW ZEALAND SHOW CASE  


After breakfast we will disembark on the Tin-a-Aii tour. Tin-a-Aii in the native Norfolk language means to look at beautiful things. On this tour you will go and visit some of the most beautiful scenic spots that will truly take your breath away. From the panoramic views form Mt Pitt to Captain Cook Memorial - the landing place of Captain Cook and now part of the National Park. Beautiful sea views, towering pines and stop for morning tea in a scenic location. As the day draws to a close enjoy a 2 course dinner at South Pacific, after dinner you will head to the first night of great Country entertainment at the festival 'The New Zealand Showcase' night where you'll see the artists from New Zealand performing. 


Day 6 - Tuesday 22nd BEHIND THE HEDGES - AUSTRALIA COUNTRY SHOWCASE 


Today we will travel to Anson Bay to visit a small hobby farm in our Behind the Hedges Tour this farm has been instrumental in improving the local livestock industry. Close by see a demonstration at Norfolk's major pottery and browse at the cottage pottery shop. After a delicious morning tea at a scenic location, walk through one of Norfolk's largest Banyan Trees. Exclusive - visit Sweeties and learn how chocolate is made on Norfolk Island.  Dinner tonight will be served at accommodation and then after dinner you will head back out to the concert venue for the Australian Showcase where you'll see artists from Australia performing.



Day 7 - Wednesday 23rd BREAKFAST BUSH WALK - UPCLOSE AND UNPLUGGED CONCERT - AWARD NIGHT  


This morning we will be having a breakfast on a Breakfast Bush Walk take your choice of a stroll through One hundred Acres Reserve or for the more energetic, a leisurely 3.5km walk through scenic Mt Bates to Captain Cook Monument. If you prefer not to rise early and bush walk you'll be picked up a little later and taken to join the walkers at Anson Bay as they return from their walk and where you'll enjoy a delicious breakfast barbecue on the clifftop. After this morning's walk enjoy a Country music Upclose and Unplugged concert which features artists from both Australia and New Zealand. Dinner tonight will be at one of Norfolk's many great restaurants then head back to enjoy the Entertainer of the Year Awards.


Day 8 - Thursday 24th LUNCH WITH STARS - ISLAND FISH FRY NIGHT


Full buffet breakfast is served at your hotel, the rest of the morning is at your leisure. Once lunch time hits you will receive a Platinum Pass Exclusive to mingle with the Stars from the music festival have a chat and share your passion for country music.  Dinner tonight we will enjoy an Island Fish Fry Night, enjoy a feast of island dishes, salads, homemade bread and fresh fried fish, followed by island desserts and tea or coffee. Watch the sun set from Puppy's Point on Norfolk's beautiful western coastline and enjoy some local entertainment. Also the UpCountry bar is open again tonight if your dancing shoes are not already warn out from Sunday night. 



Day 9 - Friday 25th NORFOLK INDULGENCE TOUR - DINNER AT HILLI RESTAURANT AND CAFE 


Breakfast will be served at your hotel this morning and then the rest of the morning will be at your leisure to have a wander up the street and support the many local boutique stores. This afternoon we will take part in an Indulgence tour this tour will visit the local chocolate shop for a demonstration and tasting of the local chocolate. This will be followed by a stop at the Liquors Factory. Afterwards enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in a scenic location. Dinner tonight will be served at the delicious Hilli's Restaurant for a two course meal. Hilli's restaurant. 


Day 10 - Saturday 26th DEPART NORFOLK - BRISBANE - MELBOURNE  


It's time to say goodbye to Norfolk Island after a very enjoyable Country Music Festival. After breakfast you will be transferred from Castaway to the Airport where you will be flying Air New Zealand to Brisbane and then Qantas through to Melbourne.  Once landing in Melbourne a Cardwell pickup driving will be waiting outside to take you back to your towns.
