Day 1 Thursday 28th Feb 2019

Today make your way to Melbourne Tullamarine Airport where you will be met by your tour leader. Fly with Qantas airways into Sydney airport, once arrived in Sydney transfer to your overnight accommodation.

Accommodation: Quality Hotel Sydney Airport or Similar.

Day 2 Friday 01 March 2019 Arrive Norfolk Island/ Night as a convict (B, D)

Breakfast at the hotel this morning. The hotel shuttle will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight to Norfolk Island with Air New Zealand.

Welcome to Norfolk Island! On arrival collect your checked luggage and clear customs and immigration. Once in the main terminal you will be met by our local ground operator Pinetree Tours and transferred to The Paradise Hotel & Resort, which will be your home for the next 7 nights.The Paradise Hotel and Resort is nestled in 11 Elizabeth Avenue, close to many tourist attractions and museums and the Burnt Pine Shopping Centre is only a 10 minute walk away. The hotel also runs a scheduled courtesy vehicle service daily to the Burnt Pine shopping precinct. Enjoy a welcome islander fruit cocktail on arrival before checking into your rooms.

Night as a Convict:

A fun night out for all ages. Dress as a convict and join in with the Commandant for an evening of gaiety, feasting, singing and dancing. Great food and great fun. (Outfit supplied)

Day 3 Saturday 02 March 2019 Orientation Tour/ Dinner at Dinos (B, D)

Full buffet breakfast is served at your hotel.

Half Day Orientation Tour:

The Half Day Orientation Tour is a must for every visitor. Visit historic Kingston, Cascade, Longridge and much more. See and hear about the famous convict buildings, beautiful beaches and golf course, the renowned Melanesian Chapel, local Government laws and lifestyle. Enjoy views from scenic spots on this full commentary conducted tour. Morning tea is included.

Dinos Italian Restaurant:

Tonight, dinner is at Dino's a popular restaurant with the locals. Set in a lovely cottage setting serving delicious cuisine.

Day 4 Sunday 03 March 2019 At Leisure/ Convict Settlement Tour/ Dinner at Castaway (B,D)

Breakfast will be served at your hotel this morning. The morning is at your own leisure and lunch is own arrangements. You may like to visit the local weekly markets. Great for crafts and homemade goodies.

1.00PM Convict Settlement Tour:

An in-depth tour of the historic Georgian Settlement of Kingston. Walk through the cemetery and hear the history of interesting convict and colonial headstones and hear stories of the house along Quality Row. Walk through the ruins of the new gaol; see the Pier Store, Boat Shed and the Crank Mill. Afternoon tea is included.

6.30pm Dinner at Castaway:

Transfer to Castaway Hotel for a 2 Course dinner.

Day 5 Monday 04 March 2019 Breakfast Bush Walk/ Glass Bottom Boat/ Progressive Dinner (B, D)

Breakfast Bush Walk:

This morning takes a stroll through One Hundred Acres Reserve or for the more energetic, a leisurely 3.5km walk through the scenic Mt Bates to The Captain Cook Monument. If you prefer not to rise early and bush walk you will be picked up a little later and taken to join the walkers at Anson Bay as they return from their walk, where you will all enjoy a delicious breakfast barbecue on the clifftop.

Christians Glass Bottom Boat:

View beautiful coral gardens and tropical fish inside the calm waters of Norfolks Lagoon. Donald and John provide full and interesting commentary on the environment tour. Tour will depend on tides. 

6.00pm Progressive Dinner:

Enjoy a 3 course meal progressing to different Norfolk Island family homes. A fun night and a great way to meet the local people and sample some of the Islands dishes.

Day 6 Tuesday 05 March 2019 Colleen McCullough Tour/ Island Fish Fry/ Sound and Light Show (B, D)

Full Breakfast will be served at your hotel this morning.

9.30am Colleen McCullough Tour

Colleen McCullough, world renowned author of 24 books called Norfolk Island home for almost 36 years. Today you will visit her beloved property Out Yenna. You are escorted through her magnificent home and given a glimpse into the life of a modern day literary icon. If you have read her amazing books, you will love the experience of sharing the world of Colleen McCullough, author of Tim, The Thornbirds and Morgans Run.

Island Fish Fry

Late this afternoon enjoy a feast of Island dishes, salads, homemade bread & fresh fried fish, followed by Island desserts & tea or coffee. Enjoy some local entertainment, on our exclusive private property Ora Daa Cliff on Norfolks western coastline.

Sound and Light Show

Nightfall at Kingston brings a different mood to the Convict Settlement. The stillness and the stars are there just as they were before settlers arrived in 1788. With the dramatic use of real life sounds, theatrical lighting and costumed actors, stillness is broken as you are taken through the horrifying decades of Norfolk Islands convict era.

Day 7 Wednesday 06 March 2019 Foundation Day Festivities/ Dinner at Paradise Hotel/ Wonderland by Night (B, L, D)

Breakfast will be served at your hotel this morning.

Foundation Day Picnic:

Be transported to Kingston for a foundation day morning to enjoy re enactment which commemorates the arrival on March 6, 1788 of Lieutenant Philip Gidley King and 22 people (15 Convicts). After the landing, you will be served a sumptuous Commandants Foundation Day lunch with wine and orange juice followed by delicious desserts.

Dinner at Paradise Hotel & Resort:

Tonight, is a 2-course dinner at your hotel.

7.15pm Wonderland by Night:

The setting is 10 acres of magical Norfolk pines and bushland lit up like an enchanted forest. Meander along (or ride in the moon buggy) a gentle winding path whilst a descendant of one of the Bounty Mutineers recites poetry written by local poet Archie Bigg. The dioramas are lit up and the setting is magical. Afterwards enjoy a light supper.

Day 8 Thursday 07 March 2019 Behind the Hedges/ Lunch at Hilli Restaurant/ Farewell Dinner at Hotel  (B, L, D)

Breakfast will be served at your hotel this morning.

8.30am Behind the Hedges Tour:

Travel to Anson Bay to visit a small hobby farm, which has been instrumental in improving our local livestock industry. Close by see a demonstration at Norfolks major pottery and browse at the Cottage Pottery shop. After a delicious morning tea at a scenic location, visit a stunning private and commercial garden that supplies our local florists with stock. Finish the tour with a visit to an amazing Banyan tree on a private property.

Lunch at Hilli Restaurant:

Lunch today will be at Hilli Restaurant. Hilli in the Norfolk language means to relax, chill out or rest. This exactly the mood the owners and staff of Hilli restaurant would like their guests to experience and you will enjoy this fine restaurant. Remainder of today is at leisure. This Restaurant is located next door to your hotel so you may wander back at your leisure.

Dinner at Paradise Hotel & Resort:

Tonight, is a 3 course farewell dinner at your hotel.

Day 9 Friday 8th March 2019 Depart Norfolk Island (B)

Breakfast will be served at your hotel this morning. Pinetree Tours will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home. When arrived in Sydney transfer to the Qantas terminal for your flight back to Melbourne while reminiscing on your adventure to Norfolk Island.
