Welcome aboard our 4 Day Lakes Entrance NYE Tour. Today we travel to Bright for our lunch break. Then along the Great Alpine Road, this is one of the great scenic tour drives and see superb views at Mt Hotham is a mountain in the Victorian Alps of the Great Dividing Range. We then continue onto Omeo and Swift Creek. We make our way to Lakes Entrance, boasting Australia’s largest inland network of waterways, Lakes Entrance has long been a popular Gippsland holiday spot. Lakes Entrance is situated on the edge of Ninety Mile Beach where the Gippsland Lakes meets the Southern Ocean. We settle in for the Next Three Nights at The Esplanade Resort Motel, Lakes Entrance.
This morning after a hearty breakfast we appreciate a town tour and free time shopping. This Morning we enjoy a relaxing and informative cruise including lunch at Metung along the beautiful Gippsland Lakes. The tranquil Gippsland Lakes system is the ultimate playground for all. Stretching out of 400 square kilometers, the lakes are a network of inland waterways. The lakes system, considered the largest inland lakes in Australia consist of three magnificent lakes – Lake Wellington, Lake Victoria and Lake King. The Gippsland Lakes meet the oceans of Bass Strait at Lakes Entrance. The Lakes include many small islands and are fed by three East Gippsland rivers: the Mitchell, the Tambo and the Nicholson. We return to Lakes Entrance with free time to explore. After Dinner we wander to the foreshore and bring the New Year in watching the Spectacular fireworks and Entertainment of SKYFEST 2019.
This morning after a leisurely start from breakfast we spend some more time wandering the town. We then travel to Wyanga Park Winery for a wonderful Luncheon and Wine Tasting. Tucked away on the North Arm of the Gippsland Lakes, Wyanga Park is Gippsland’s oldest, family run winery. Then we travel to Bairnsdale and Paynesville to explore and tour around these towns. Then we travel back to Lakes Entrance for rest and recreation.
We farewell the Gippsland Lakes as we travel to Sale for morning tea. We then travel onto Healesville where we enjoy our lunch break and superb views of the Dandenong Ranges, a lush haven of hidden delights, secret fern glades, towering forests and eclectic villages. We make our way home through Seymour after a relaxing and enjoyable Lakes Entrance NYE Tour.
