Indian Pacific - Including Perth

Day 1 - TUESDAY 13th October 2020 MELBOURNE to SYDNEY (D)

All aboard! Today we have a leisurely start to the day. We make our way to the Melbourne Airport for our afternoon flight to Sydney. On arrival in Sydney you will be transferred from the airport to your accommodation for an overnight stay at the Park Royal Sydney Darling Harbour. Tonight, have a delicious two course dinner and the rest of the evening is a at your leisure, you may like to walk down to the Darling Harbor and enjoy some of the local venues that are situated on harbour.

Day 2 - WEDNESDAY 14th October  SYDNEY (B, D)

This morning have a delightful breakfast at the Park Royal. The rest of the morning is yours to enjoy, have a look around the city and its many sights. Around mid-day you will be transferred from the Park Royal to the Sydney Central Train Station. Proceed to check for your train journey and prepare for a journey of contrasts, from lush vineyards to vast goldmines, majestic mountains to the barren expanse of the Nullarbor, from cities of four million to ghost towns of four.  As the train winds through the breathtaking Blue Mountains, explore the comforts of life onboard, get acquainted with your cabin and fellow travellers. After settling in, savour your first meal – a regionally-inspired dinner paired with all-inclusive fine wines and beverages.  After dinner, join fellow guests for a late-night drink or head back to your cabin for your first night onboard.


You arrive in the ‘Silver City’ of Broken Hill as the day begins, where you embark on a morning of Off Train Excursions to discover the mining history and artistic culture of this unique town where the streets are wide and there’s a pub on every corner.  Lunch is served onboard as the Indian Pacific enters the southern tip of the spectacular and ancient Flinders Ranges. Arriving in the city of Adelaide in the afternoon, you have the choice of a tour of the city, a visit to the world-famous Barossa Valley or McLaren Vale wine regions (seasonal), or a trip to the beautiful Adelaide Hills featuring the culinary delights of Hahndorf.

Day 4 - FRIDAY 16th October  NULLABOR (B, L, D)

You will awake to the seemingly endless expanse of the Nullarbor Plain. Breakfast is served as you travel along the longest stretch of straight railway track in the world. This evening, your sense of wonder will be ignited as you enjoy the tranquillity of dinner under the brilliant desert stars in the remote and beautiful Rawlinna (seasonal).

Day 5 - SATURDAY 17th October  PERTH (B, L, D)

Breakfast is served as you glide through the mild skies and cool green vales of the Avon Valley on your way to Perth, arriving after an onboard lunch. On arrival in Peth you will be transferred from the train station to your accommodation which will be the Hyatt Regency Perth. This beautiful property is centrally located and sits near the Swan River where you can catch some beautiful views. Tonight, enjoy dinner at the Hyatt before settling in for the night.

Day 6 - SUNDAY 18th October  PERTH (B, L, D)

After breakfast this morning you will be transferred to the Ferry that will take you over to Rottnest Island. Explore the stunning beauty of this A class reserve in air conditioned comfort, taking in the amazing fauna and flora of the island, stunning beaches, woodlands, incredible salt lakes and unique historic train ride. This 4 hour all-inclusive island tour includes all of Rottnest’s must see locations including the Wadjemup Lighthouse, Henrietta Rocks, Oliver Hill Gun Fortification and Tunnels and the majestic look-out point at the rugged Cathedral Rocks and Cape Vlamingh. All major habitats are covered on this amazing tour, including Rottnest’s cultural and historical heritage ranging from Maritime, Colonial and Military history to future developments. This tour will also include a Light sandwich packed lunch.  Once the tour has finished you board the ferry back to the main land and transferred to your accommodation. Dinner tonight will be served at the hotel.

Day 7 - MONDAY 19th October  PERTH (B, L, D)

After breakfast you will be transferred to the docks, to embark on your Swan Valley Gourmet Wine Cruise. Enjoy morning tea served by our crew on board as our captain points out the sights as we cruise into the picturesque Swan Valley. A wine tasting from locally sourced Western Australian wineries is served onboard before we arrive at the Standaleford Estate jetty for a personalised behind the scene winery tour. This is followed by a unique “Flight of Wines” tasting at their cellar door. A 2-course lunch is served during tasting with a premium glass of wine, and upon reboarding the vessel, dessert is served during the return cruise.   When you arrive back into Perth you will be transferred back to the Hyatt for your dinner.

Day 8 - TUESDAY 20th October PERTH – MELBOURNE (B)

Today we farewell WA and make our way to the airport. When you arrive back into Melbourne Cardwell Coach Travel will waiting to take you back to your departure locations after a wonderful trip aboard the Indian Pacific and Exploring Perth.
