DAY 1 - Thursday 10th Sept '20 GUNDAGAI-MOSS VALE – GERRINGONG (D)
Welcome aboard our exciting “Easter in Gerringong” Tour. Today we travel through Albury and along the Hume Freeway to Gundagai and the Dog on the Tucker Box for our lunch break. See the ruins of the Old Five Mile Pub and meet Dad and Dave. After lunch we continue through the rolling countryside of Yass then we follow the Illawarra Highway through Moss Vale, the scenic Southern Highlands and the lovely Macquarie Pass National Park to Gerringong, where we relax for the next Four Nights at the Park Ridge Retreat Gerringong.
DAY 2 - Friday 11th KIAMA - JAMBEROO VALLEY (B,D)
After breakfast we explore Kiama, an Aboriginal word meaning ‘Where the sea makes a noise’, a reference to the famous Blowhole where spectacular plumes of water sprays up to the height of 60m and is floodlit each night. We visit the Historic Terrace, housing specialty shops. This afternoon we enjoy a scenic drive along Jamberoo Valley to the pretty little village of Jamberoo, surrounded by dairy farms, first established in 1830’s with many heritage sites. We continue to the Budderoo National Park where we see a rare tract of subtropical rainforest on the NSW South Coast and visit the Minnamurra Rainforest Centre. We enjoy an introductory talk, a slide presentation and a guided tour of the Rainforest Loop Walk on the newly constructed boardwalk, before our visit to the Illawarra Fly tree top Walk & Café. We return to our Motel to relax before dinner.
DAY 3 - Saturday 12th ILLAWARRA (B,D)
A relaxing start this morning as we take a scenic journey north through Bombo to the spectacular Cathedral Rocks, before travelling to Albion Park where we visit the Illawarra Light Railway Museum. We explore the small shopping centre. After lunch we explore Lake Illawarra before returning to Kiama, where we visit the Pilots Cottage Museum. The afternoon is free to explore or relax in the beautiful seaside town. Dinner tonight is at the motel.
DAY 4 - Sunday 13th GERRINGONG – GERROA - BERRY (B,L,D)
An exciting day awaits as we travel south around the Kiama Bends View Coast Line and see the spectacular coastal views from the Mount Pleasant Lookout. We travel to Gerringong and enjoy time exploring the beautiful seaside town. Whilst here we visit the Gerringong Heritage Centre with it’s interesting display about Charles Kingsford-Smith. We head inland to the Crooked River Winery for Easter Sunday Lunch and tastings. After lunch we travel to the township of Berry then view the spectacular coast line from the Kingsford-Smith Lookout, we then travel to the beautiful Seven Mile Beach and Gerroa before returning to the motel in time to freshen up for Dinner.
DAY 5 - Monday 14th GERRINGONG - HOME (B)
This morning we farewell our hosts and depart Gerringong for our journey home through Macquarie Pass and the scenic southern highlands to Moss Vale, Gundagai and Goulburn. We stop at the Ettamogah Pub where we enjoy another cuppa before making our way home through Albury after a relaxing and scenic tour of Kiama and surrounding districts.
