Day 1 – Sat 4th Sept ’21 COONABARABRAN (D)
Welcome aboard for our enjoyable tour of Coffs
Harbour/Byron Bay/Gold Coast.
Today we travel to Jerilderie for our morning tea break. Continue through West Wyalong, in the
Riverina District, where we stop for lunch. This afternoon we head to Dubbo where
we stop for a cuppa before continuing on to our overnight accommodation at Country
Comfort Gardens, Coonabarabran.
Day
2 – Sunday 5th COFFS HARBOUR (B,D)
This morning after a hearty
breakfast we travel to Tamworth, the Country Music Capital,
see the Golden Guitar and
enjoy our lunch break here. Make our way
to Armidale and along the Waterfall Way to Dorrigo. We travel past
waterfalls through the most accessible National Park in the world. We spend
some time in Dorrigo
with its many craft shops.
We visit the World Heritage listed National
Park where there is a fantastic Skywalk high above the rainforest.
We make our way to Coffs Harbour. We settle in for the Next Two Nights at the Opal Cove Resort.
Day 3 – Monday 6th PORPOISE POOL - BIG BANANA (B,D)
Today after a relaxing start we explore Coffs
Harbour. Visit the Marina
with its fishing fleet, whale watching and recreational vessels moored
in the safe harbour. We visit the Pet
Porpoise pool, see the amazing show, starring dolphins and sea lions
followed by feeding of fairy penguins and fish. After a stroll and lunch we
visit the Big Banana, an Australian icon. The grounds of the park are set amongst a banana plantation, featuring a large walk-through banana. We then return to our motel to rest and
refresh before dinner.
Day 4 – Tuesday 7th DOLPHIN CRUISE – FREE TIME (B)
Today we enjoy a relaxing morning on board the
“Pacific Explorer” for a Whale Watching Cruise, enjoy the commentary as we cruise past the spectacular
Coffs Harbour coastline. Make the most
of some free time to soak up the friendly atmosphere of this beautiful coastal
town. This afternoon we head off to Byron Bay, stopping for afternoon tea
enroute. The next two nights are spent at the beautiful Beach Hotel Byron
Bay or similar. Dinner is at your leisure at the Hotel or wherever you choose.
Day 5 – Wednesday 8th LIGHTHOUSE - SCHOOL OF CLAY (B)
This
morning we enjoy breakfast before heading out to the Byron Bay Lighthouse. On Australia's most easterly point, atop a bald,
rocky headland, sits the iconic Cape Byron Lighthouse. Offering sweeping views
over the Pacific Ocean and a unique historical insight into the region. We then
visit ‘The Farm’ – Their motto Grow, Feed, Educate inspires all
that they do there and for the community at large. They believe that it is
first hand experience of seeing how food is grown and produced that makes the
eating of it so much more pleasurable. From this simple please sprouts a curiousity
and desire to learn. We then visit Byron Hinterland “The Pearl” and Bangalow. The
Byron Bay Hinterland is largely an explored gem for visitors to the Northern
River's Region. From the sub-tropical rainforest walks and spectacular scenic
views to the numerous local villages with pubs and cafes serving up the
best of the region's cuisine, the hinterland is not to be missed. Now it’s time
to be creative! We take a step inside Byron’s School of Clay were we
learn how to make our own handmade pottery. You may have hidden skills!! After
creating a masterpiece we head back to our hotel. Dinner tonight is at your
leisure.
Day 6 – Thursday 9th FREE
TIME IN BYRON BAY (B,D)
Time to get up and
enjoy breakfast! Today is a free day in Byron Bay. Time to explore all that this beautiful region
has to offer. You may like to do some retail therapy in town, or take a scenic
walk, or maybe you may just choose to head into town for a cuppa and relaxation.
Mid-afternoon we head to Surfers Paradise where we will be staying the
next two nights at the beautiful Pepper’s Soule Surfers Paradise.
DAY 7 – Friday 10th SEAWORLD
– OUTBACK SPECTACULAR (B,D)
After breakfast it’s off to SeaWorld. Sea world is the premier marine animal park on the Gold Coast. The park includes
rides, animal exhibits and other attractions, and it promotes conservation
through education and the rescue and rehabilitation of sick, injured or orphaned
wildlife. There is so much to see and do. Tonight we attend the Outback Spectacular. Australian Outback Spectacular’s
Heartland shares the story of Reg and Marg, who are battling a severe five year
drought on their farm in the Australian bushland. Embark on a journey to the
heartland of Australia and discover the harsh reality of living on the land and
the importance of resilience and triumph. Experience immersive projection
mapping in a transformative arena that appears to spin, turn and shatter whilst
enjoying a three-course dinner and drinks.
DAY 8 – Saturday 11th GOULBURN - HOME (B)
This morning we prepare
for our flight home to Melbourne, where we are greeted by a Cardwell’s representative
and transport home to our respective destinations following a lovely tour.
