Day 1 – Monday 16th Tullamarine
– Melbourne (D)
Welcome aboard our scenic West Coast Spectacular
Tour. This afternoon we enjoy a leisurely journey to Melbourne
for our Overnight Stay at Best Western Airport Motel.
Day 2 – Tuesday 17th Melbourne
– Perth – Broome (B,D)
After breakfast we transfer you to Tullamarine Airport for an early morning flight to Broome via Perth. You will
be transferred to our motel before we meet our coach
arriving from Derby who will give a short introductory
tour of Broome. Today with increasing tourism, Broome is rapidly expanding into
the most populous town in the Kimberley. Spend the Next
Two Nights at the Oaks Resort Cable Beach.
Day 3 – Wednesday 18th Broome – Cable Beach
(B,D)
Enjoy a leisurely start this morning and discover
Broome, renowned as ‘The
Pearl of the West’. See Chinatown, a reminder of the town’s
multi-cultural history, and Streeter’s Jetty, where the old pearl luggers unloaded their pearl shell. Visit the
unique Pearl divers Cemetery. Broome
still produces a large percentage of the world’s pearls. Later you can enjoy a
walk along Cable Beach, with
it’s brilliant turquoise water and magnificent white sands. Enjoy the sunset
tonight at Cable Beach.
Day 4 –Thursday 19th
Eighty
Mile Beach – Port Hedland (B,D)
This morning we depart and pass through some of the most sparsely populated and remote areas
in Australia. We take a walk on the Eighty Mile Beach. Continue to the huge
industrial port of Port Hedland and discover the stories of
this famous mining town and port. We stay overnight at the Hospitality Inn Port Hedland
Day 5 – Friday 20th Karratha – Pilbara (B,D)
A relaxing start as we travel to the historic town of Cossack, the first port in the North West. Enjoy a tour of the North
West Shelf Visitors Centre, Parker Point Iron Ore Load Out
Facilities and the Salt Works at nearby Dampier. Our overnight stay is at the Karratha International Motel
Day 6 – Saturday 21st
Newman
(B,D)
Today we travel back up the North West
Coastal Highway to the Great Northern Highway traveling to the Auski Roadhouse
where we have our lunch break. We then continue onto Newman, the largest inland town in
the Pilbara, it
is a modern, attractive
mining town in the heart of the Ophthalmia Ranges. Overnight Stay at the All Seasons, Newman.
Day 7 – Sunday 22nd Tom
Price – Karjini National Park (B,D)
This morning we enjoy a guided tour of the Newman Open Cut Mine. Please Note: ALL passengers must wear long sleeve shirt/top, long pants
& fully covered in shoes.
We depart Newman and travel through the Karijini
National Park, the Hamersley Ranges, visit Dales Gorge and see the picturesque Fortescue Falls on our way to Tom Price. Our Overnight Stay is at the Tom Price Hotel
Motel.
Day 8 – Monday 23rd Tom Price– Exmouth (B,D)
This morning we head through to Nanutarra situated on the Ashburton River for lunch. Continue
through Giralia station, before arriving at the maritime town of Exmouth for our Overnight Stay at the Potshot Hotel, Exmouth.
Day 9 – Tuesday 24th Reef Cruise – Carnarvon (B,D)
Exmouth is one of the newest towns in Australia, founded in 1967 and excellent
year round fishing has made it a main tourist attraction destination. This
morning we visit Vlaming Head Lighthouse Lookout before travelling onto Coral Bay, gateway to Ningaloo Marine Park, for a cruise of the beautiful Coral Reef in a glass bottom boat. Continue
on through vast pastoral holdings before crossing the usually dry Gascoyne
River into Carnarvon, an oasis of tropical fruits, vegetables and
bougainvillea’s galore. See the fishing boat harbour and the One Mile Jetty. We
settle in for our Overnight Stay at the Carnarvon Motel.
Day 10 – Wednesday 25th
Carnarvon - Shark Bay (B,D)
Explore World Heritage Shark Bay Marine Park. See
the world’s oldest known living organisms, the Stramatolites, dated at 3.5 billion years old. We visit Shell
Beach, where thousands of tiny shells line the water’s
edge. Travel along the Peron Peninsula, located on the state’s most westerly point, to our Overnight Stay in Denham, at the Heritage
Resort Shark Bay.
Day 11 – Thursday 26th Monkey Mia Dolphins – Kalbarri NP (B,D)
This morning you can interact with the bottlenose dolphins of Monkey Mia, (subject to appearance) before travelling further south
with its impressive landscapes to Kalbarri National
Park. Visit Hawk’s Head Lookout, enjoy spectacular views of Murchison River, one of the state’s most extensive river systems. Continue to Kalbarri
where we enjoy its picturesque seaside views, and take a short drive to Red
Bluff with its spectacular scenery.
We settle in for our Overnight stay at the The Edge Resort,
Kalbarri.
Day 12 – Friday 27th Geraldton (B,D)
Today we travel to and explore Geraldton, a port and administration centre
for the mid west area. We visit the HMAS Sydney Memorial. Our Overnight stay is at the Ocean Centre Hotel Geraldton.
Day 13 – Saturday 28th The Pinnacles – Perth (B,D)
This morning we marvel at the amazing moonscape of coloured quartz with the fantastic limestone pillars that make up “The Pinnacles”.
Be sure to bring your camera. Continue through the Swan Valley vineyards
arriving in the beautiful city of Perth and settle in for the Next Two Nights at the Comfort Hotel, Perth.
Day 14 – Sunday 29th Perth City Sights (B,D)
This morning we enjoy a
city sights tour of Perth, including the Botanical Gardens and Kings Park with its magnificent views
of the city and Swan River. Enjoy
Dinner tonight after a most relaxing day.
Day 15 – Monday 30th Morning Flight Home
(B)
This
morning we transfer to the Perth Airport for our return flight to
Melbourne. You will be met at
Melbourne and transferred to your respective destinations at the conclusion of
a most enjoyable tour to the West Coast of Australia.
