2 Days
Day 1- Tuesday 16th Sep '21 HEALSVILLE (B, L)
Welcome aboard for an exciting Healesville- Melbourne tour. Today we head down the highway to Seymour for our morning tea before continuing on the Healesville Santuary. Wander through the tranquil tracks
and meet over 200 species of Australian animals, including the iconic koalas,
kangaroos, platypus, dingoes, wombats and emus in their natural surrounds.
After working up an appetite we head into the main street of Healesville for
lunch and a look around. After lunch we step back in time as we take a ride on
the Australia’s favourite steam train, Puffing Billy, in the natural
surrounds of the magnificent Dandenong Ranges. It’s time to relax and freshen
up at our lovely accommodation at The Grand Hyatt Melbourne, before
heading to the amazing The Hereford Beefstouw for our evening meal.
Day 2- Wednesday 15th Sep MELBOURNE (B, L)
This morning we wake up to a delicious breakfast before departing to the Melbourne Arts Centre Museum. Art Centre Melbourne is the proud custodian of the Australian Performing Arts Collection, which is dedicated to the collection, preservation and interpretation of Australia's circus, dance, music, opera and theatre heritage. We visit the State Library of Victoria which is a fascinating building with something going on most days of the year. We take a ride on the Melbourne Star Wheel. The Melbourne Star is the Southern Hemisphere's only observation wheel, offering a sky high experience like no other. Standing at a staggering 120 metres tall, this is Melbourne like you've never seen it before. Now it's time to dine in style. Enjoy a European escape at The Moat, an intimate heaven in the heart of Melbourne, reflecting the Italian heritage of the owners. Together they have created authentic dishes that are hand-made with seasonal local produce, simplicity and love. This afternoon we visit living legends- the Organisation was established to nurture the deep connection between the community and our racehorse champions and promote life after racing for all horses. We continue on our way home stopping enroute for afternoon tea.
