Day 1: Wednesday 7th May 2025 MELBOURNE

All aboard! Today you will be transferred down to Melbourne Airport for your flight to Greece. Go through airport formalities, you will be flying Qatar with a connection in Doha.

Day 2: Thursday 8th May 2025 ATHENS

On arrival into Athens you will be transferred to your accommodation at the Crowne Plaza City Centre for the next two nights. Take the time to unwind a go for a explore around this exciting city.

Day 3: Friday 9th May 2025 ATHENS

This evening, join your fellow travellers for a welcome dinner featuring Greek specialities at a local restaurant in Athens.

Day 4: Saturday 10th May 2025 ATHENS

Enjoy a panoramic tour of the highlights in Athens showcasing the city's ancient and glorious monuments, the Parliament, and the Olympic Stadium. Next, ascend the steep hill of the Acropolis. Greek for “highest city,” the Acropolis was the religious centre of ancient Athens and is crowned by the Parthenon, considered the pinnacle of classical Greek architecture. This evening, perhaps you’ll choose to join an optional local food tour of Athens.

Day 5: Sunday 11th May 2025 KALAMBAKA

Travel north through central Greece to Thermopylae. Stop to see a monument dedicated to Leonidas who died defending the city against the Persians. Arrive in Metéora and visit two remote monasteries* situated in a unique landscape of limestone rock “towers” that extend nearly 900 feet into the air. Over 600 years ago, Byzantine monks chose to build their monastic community perched atop these virtually inaccessible rocks. End your day at a family-owned taverna where you will savour a delicious meal with recipes passed down from generations. Your overnight stay is at Grand Hotel Meteroa.

Day 6: Monday 12th May 2025 ARACHOVA

This morning, continue to the ancient city of Delphi, one of Greece’s most important religious centers during Classical times. A local expert guides you on a visit to the Sanctuary of Apollo, the Doric Temple, the ancient theatre, and the Delphi Museum with its priceless collection of ancient artifacts. It was here that the famous Oracle was consulted to foretell the destiny of Man. Continue on to charming Arachova, a popular ski resort town with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Your overnight stay is at Domotel Anemolia Resort & Conference.

Day 7: Tuesday 13th May 2025 OLYMPIA

Travel along the Gulf of Corinth, crossing into the Peloponnese to the historic city of Olympia, a testament to the grandeur of ancient Greek civilization. Visit a local farm in the countryside and meet with the owners to learn about everyday life in rural Peloponnese. Following the tour, enjoy a light lunch including a tasting of local wines, olive oil, homemade jams, marmalades and sweets. Your two night stay is at Europa Hotel Olympia.

Day 8: Wednesday 14th May 2025 OLYMPIA

Your guided visit to ancient Olympia includes a tour of the sanctuary of Zeus, the Olympic Stadium – where the first Olympic Games were held in 776 B.C. – and the museum. Next, learn how to cook some of the region’s best dishes as you partake in a Mediterranean cooking experience followed by a traditional Greek lunch. This evening, broaden your knowledge of traditional Greek musical instruments and folkloric dances with a delightful Greek dance class.

Day 9: Thursday 15th May 2025 TOLO

Enjoy spectacular scenery as you cross the Arkadian Mountains on your way to the picturesque seaside village of Tolo. En route, stop at a family-owned ouzo distillery producing Greece’s signature anise-flavored aperitif since 1869. Your two night stay is at King Minos Hotel

Day 10: Friday 16th May 2025 TOLO

Start your day with a journey to ancient Mycenae, once ruled by mythological King Agamemnon, commander-in-chief of the Greeks during the Trojan War. Explore the excavations during a guided visit featuring the Beehive Tombs and the Lion Gate. Next, head to the coastal town of Nafplio and enjoy a free afternoon to explore Greece’s first capital city. Your Tour Manager will introduce you to Nafplio’s mix of Venetian and neo-classical architectural influences which make it Greece’s most elegant city.

Day 11: Saturday 17th May 2025 MYKONOS

Early this morning, transfer to the port of Athens for the high-speed ferry** ride to Mykonos, the whitewashed jewel of the Cyclades Islands. Enjoy magnificent views as you cruise across the brilliant Aegean Sea to this island paradise. Spend time in Chora (Mykonos Old Town), where mazes of narrow streets link the whitewashed buildings and traditional life continues amidst the bustling activity. Your two night stay is at San Marco Hotel.

Cruise to the most spectacular destination in the Mediterranean, the fabled island of Santorini. Next, travel through a fascinating landscape of vineyards, whitewashed chapels, and volcanic cliffs to the spectacular town of Oia, where the best views of the crater are found. Your three night stay is at El Greco Hotel.

Day 14: Tuesday 20th May 2025 SANTONRINI

Begin your day with a visit to the excavation site of ancient Akrotiri, the most important prehistoric settlement found anywhere in the Eastern Mediterranean. Known as the "Minoan Pompeii," the flourishing town was at once destroyed and preserved by a volcanic eruption around 1450 B.C. End your morning with a tasting and light lunch at a local winery that produces the unique and famous wines of Santorini.

Day 15: Wednesday 21st May 2025 SANTORINI

Your day is at leisure to relax or independently explore Santorini, considered one of the most stunning landscapes in the world. Shop in Thira’s charming town centre, take in the breathtaking scenery, visit a local museum or simply enjoy the amenities of your hotel. Perhaps you’ll join an afternoon optional tour of Megalochori, one of the most picturesque villages on the island, followed by a dinner of flavorful regional cuisine.

Day 16: Thursday 22nd May 2025 ATHENS

Bid farewell to the Greek Islands and fly back to Athens for your overnight stay. Celebrate the end of a memorable trip to Greece with a delightful farewell dinner. Your overnight stay is at Crowne Plaza Athens City Centre

Day 17: Friday 23rd May 2025 ATHENS

Today you will be transferred to the Athens airport to travel back to Melbourne. You will be flying Qatar with a connection in Doha.

On arrival into Melbourne a Cardwell representative will transfer you back to your original pick up locations.

Activity Level:  Level 3 . You’re an on-the-go traveller. You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (2-3 hours) isn’t a big deal. A moderately paced two-and-a-half-hour walking tour, covering several miles, hills, and uneven surfaces, is no problem for you. Walking four miles over the course of a day is very doable, as is climbing into and out of various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.). You can climb three flights of stairs easily and handle altitudes between 6,000 and 9,000 feet. Expect some longer days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. This level is not a fit for travellers who require mobility assistance devices.

FREE PASSENGER PICKUP & RETURN SERVICE: For the convenience of all our passengers Cardwell’s Coach & International Travel provide Free Passenger Pickup & Return Service from most major Towns in North, North-East, Central Victoria & Southern NSW.  (For Example:  Albury, Wodonga, Wangaratta, Benalla, Seymour, Bendigo, Finley, Kerang, Echuca, Deniliquin, Yarrawonga, Corowa, and towns within these areas).

For Passenger’s who live outside these areas Cardwell’s provide Overnight accommodation in Numurkah and ‘Free lock up car storage’ at our Numurkah depot.

NOT INCLUDED:  Cost of passport, Visa (Australian Passport holders will not need a Visa), tipping and Gratuities.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Deposit is un-refundable at time of booking and all monies paid will become un-refundable after the balance due date.

FARES & ITINERARIES: Cardwell’s Coach Travel costs published & outlined in the brochure are frozen; errors or printing mistakes are subject to correction. However, policy or itinerary changes by rail/air/sea/land/tour operators or changes in Government duties or taxes are outside the control of Cardwell’s Coach Travel. Air fares and other discount travel arrangements may be subject to availability of seats/berths, as determined by transport companies. Alternative hotels may be used.  No increases apply once full fare is paid. The Tour duration includes the day of departure and the day of return. Fares shown make no allowance for extra accommodation or transfers necessitated by en-route stop-overs caused by rail/air/boat schedules, strikes or other reasons. Your Travel Agent will forward deposits and other payments to us on your behalf.  Receipt of deposits and also subsequent payments by the travel agent does not constitute receipts of those monies by us.  There is no liability on our part in respect of any monies paid to your Travel Agent unless and until we notify you (by way of Booking Confirmation Advice or Payment Receipt Advice) that monies have been received by us.  Cardwell’s Coach Travel reserves the right to cancel any ticket or booking or to refuse to carry any passenger where payment has not been received by Cardwell’s Coach Travel and has the right to accept wait listed passengers in place of those failing to finalise within the prescribed time.

CONTINGENCY: In the event of circumstances affecting the progress of any tour arrangements (including but not limited to vehicle breakdowns and missed flight connections) Cardwell’s Coach & International Travel will not be responsible for any accommodation costs and will not be liable for any airfares or repatriation costs whatsoever. All efforts will be made to rectify the situation expediently. Cardwell’s Coach & International Travel reserve the right to alter the itinerary in order to make up any time lost due to any unforeseen circumstances.

ELIGIBILITY: No passenger will be permitted to embark or continue on the tour while their mental or physical condition is, in the opinion of CARDWELLS’ COACH & INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL, such as to render them incapable of caring for themselves, or they become objectionable to other passengers.  However, any person/s who cannot travel independently or needs special assistance must be accompanied by a companion.

ITINERARY CHANGES:   Itineraries, tours and cruises are subject to alteration with or without notice and intended as a guide only.  Alterations may come about due to road or weather conditions, strikes, non-performance by a supplier or any other reasons Cardwell’s Coach Travel act in your best interest in any such changes.

ARBITRATION: The contract shall be governed in all respects by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Should the unlikely situation arise that a customer has a complaint about any aspect of a tour, the complaint should be reported immediately to the local Tour Guide (where possible), or to the management of the supplier (eg: hotel, tour operator, etc), in order to be given the opportunity to immediately rectify the problem. If a satisfactory outcome is not forthcoming all complaints must be in writing and received by Cardwell’s Coach Travel, providing full details of the problem and those previously contacted in the resolution process. Cardwell’s Coach Travel offers no guarantee of material or financial compensation in any instance.

MINIMUM NUMBERS/ HOSTESS: Cardwell Coach & International Travel have a group allocation on the Collette Tour. Your tour guide will meet you on Day 3 and leave on the last day in Greece.

LUGGAGE: One medium suitcase per person, not exceeding 20kg (42lbs) and one carry bag for inside the coach.  Over limit luggage cannot be carried. International flights as per airline allowances.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: We can arrange for passengers to take out travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances which may arise (including cancellation fees, medical & curtailment expenses, loss of luggage, early departure from tour due to death or illness etc.) These can be extremely expensive.  Ask your travel agent for details at time of booking.

FORCE MAJEURE: If by any means of any event of force majeure (which shall include terrorism, pandemic or any cause or event outside our control) we shall be delayed in or prevented from performing our obligations, then such delay or non-performance shall not be deemed a breach or entitle damages claim. Our obligations shall be suspended whilst such event of force majeure continues.
