Itinerary

Day 1 – Monday 14th Oct 2024 - Healesville

We set off on this morning towards Healesville, stopping enroute for morning tea. Healesville is a gourmet food and wine hub surrounded by stunning scenery in the famous Yarra Valley grape growing region. The town centre is situated along a tree-lined boulevard featuring an eclectic mix of specialty shops. Discover talented artisans, markets and delicious local produce. We enjoy lunch at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice-creamery. Crafted by their talented team of Belgian and French Chocolatiers, their chocolate range is exclusive to the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie. Inspired by classics, favourite treats and our Yarra Valley surrounds, their collection of over 250 different chocolate products contain fruits and nuts picked from their orchard and herbs from their kitchen garden, locally sourced milk and the best quality single origin and Belgian couverture chocolate and cocoa butter. We enjoy a ‘taste & create’ workshop before then travelling to Healesville Sanctuary, in the heart of the Yarra Valley, is world-renowned as the best place to see Australian wildlife in their natural habitat. Set in a beautiful natural environment, the Sanctuary offers a place for people and animals to reconnect with nature from creek to canopy, and plays a critical role in saving some of the world's most endangered animals. We then head off to our accommodation at Sanctuary House Resort Motel for our dinner and overnight stay.

After lunch we continue on to Wonthaggi Coal Mine. Journey back in time to discover what life working in a coal mine was like in the 1900’s. Venture underground through the network of tunnels to get hands-on at the coal face and learn how Victoria’s hard working men extracted the black gold! Operating from 1909 to 1968, the State Coal Mine produced almost 17 million tonnes of coal for Victoria’s industries and railways. For the next Two Nights we stay at the Prom Country Lodge, Foster.

Day 3 – Wednesday 16th - Wilsons Promontory

This morning after enjoying our breakfast, we head off to Wilsons Promontory, southernmost tip of mainland Australia. Discover the beautiful granite coastline and unique wilderness of the Wilsons Promontory National Park on our Wilsons Promontory Cruise. Witness iconic South Point, the southernmost tip of mainland Australia and cruise into the waters of Bass Strait and Victoria's first marine national park. Discover a rugged and raw coast like no other as we explore The Glennies, Anderson Islets, Anser Island and the iconic granite monolith, Skull Rock. Sculpted by waves and surrounded by crystal blue waters, Skull Rock's eerie facade becomes even more mysterious as more and more skull shapes reveal themselves the closer you get. Here we split into two groups and take part in The Saltwater Creative Co. – RESIN CLASS. Let your creative side shine as you create a lovely resin masterpiece to take home. You don’t need any skills! Day 5 – Friday 18th - Melbourne – Healesville - Home

After enjoying breakfast we head for Dinner Plain, stopping enroute for morning tea. The tradition of Dinner Plain goes back well over a century, when cattlemen first arrived to rest and graze their cattle. The site of Dinner Plain Village was originally part of 640 acres. When the coaches were running between Omeo and Bright, they would stop here for midday dinner, hence the area became known as Dinner Plain. We stop at the Bright Brewery for lunch. We continue home stopping at Nightingale Apples in Wandiligong to see what’s in their store and maybe purchase a cheeky apple cider, before returning home after an enjoyable tour.
