Day 1: Tuesday 12th November 2024 Spirit of Tasmania - Devonport

Welcome aboard our luxury coach for an enjoyable tour of Tasmania, with all of its spectacular Spring bloom. We make our way to Geelong, stopping enroute for dinner, where we board the Spirit of Tasmania at Corio Quay Road, North for our evening departure. We recommend taking a small overnight bag on board as all other luggage will stay on the coach. OVERNIGHT: SPIRIT OF TASMANIA - Port Hole Cabins on a Twin Share Basis, all with private facilities.

Day 2: Wednesday 13th November 2024 Woolmers Estate- Historic Ross- Hobart

The Spirit of Tasmania arrives into Devonport at 6.00am. We enjoy breakfast here before we make our way through the tiny town of Spreyton and onto Sheffield, a small village renowned for the beautiful murals displayed throughout the town. We make our way to Woolmers Estate, circa 1817, a time capsule of Australian colonial history. Travel to Historic Ross, see one of the oldest and most beautiful bridges in Australia and time to discover some of the National Trust buildings. We then visit the township of Oatlands which has the largest collection of sandstone buildings in Australia, making our way to Tasmania’s capital – Hobart taking in some superb views of the city before settling in for the Next Three Nights at the Crowne Plaza Hobart.

Day 3: Thursday 14th November 2024 City Sights- Free Afternoon

This morning we travel to Richmond where we see the historic Richmond Bridge, the oldest in Australia. We return to Hobart and enjoy a town tour taking in the Old-World Charm of Hobart, the city sights including Constitution Dock, Battery Point and the Botanical Gardens with time to explore. This afternoon is free for you to relax or meet with friends. Tonight’s dinner is at the Motel.

Day 4: Friday 15th November 2024 Port Arthur

An early start this morning as we make our way to Eaglehawk Neck where we visit the Tessellated Pavement, Doo Town, Blowhole, Devil’s Kitchen and Tasman's Arch. Then it’s back to the days of our convict past as we visit the Port Arthur historic settlement. Enjoy a guided walking tour and a cruise with time to explore. On our return journey we visit the Port Arthur Lavender Farm for afternoon tea before returning to Hobart after a memorable day of sightseeing.

Day 5: Saturday 16th November 2024 World Heritage Wilderness Region - Queenstown

This morning we farewell Hobart and follow the Derwent River, New Norfolk then onto the impressive Russell Falls located in the Mt Field National Park. We continue our journey passing the giant Hydro Power Station at Tarraleah and Derwent Bridge on our way to Lake St. Clare National Park. Here we enjoy lunch and a chance to explore “The Wall”, which features lifelike sculptures carved from Huon Pine. We travel into the World Heritage Wilderness Region with its raw beauty to arouse us as we cross the Franklin River and onto Queenstown for a total contrast as vegetation suddenly diminishes. We explore the town before we settle in for the Next Two Nights at the Queenstown Motor Lodge, Queenstown.

Day 6: Sunday 17th November 2024 Gordon River Cruise- Strahan

An exciting day awaits as we join World Heritage Cruises at Strahan for a spectacular cruise across the Macquarie Harbour with lunch included. We cruise towards Hell's Gates - the mouth of the harbour. We go ashore Sarah Island, where Marcus Clark's well-known story "For the term of his Natural Life" originated, and then continue along the placid Gordon River. The cruiser makes a brief stop at Heritage Landing for a chance to take a wilderness walk. We see the natural beauty of dense rainforest and the 2000 Year Old Huon Pine. We enjoy a short drive around Strahan before returning to Queenstown.

Day 7: Monday 18th November 2024 Cradle Mountain- Stanley

We depart Queenstown and step back into time as we visit the Zeehan Pioneer Museum. We make our way to the beautiful World Heritage Area of Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park. We visit the incredible Information Centre that will open your eyes to this wild and beautiful part of our country. It boasts a series of impressive displays of the geography, flora and fauna. We also visit Dove Lake, with Cradle Mountain as its backdrop, which is equally impressive and a perfect shot for the keen photographer. Learn about Austrian born Gustav Weindorfer’s vision for Cradle Mountain “This must be a National Park for the people for all time. It is magnificent and people must know about it and enjoy it”. We also make time to visit Devils @ Cradle and both view, and learn, about the Tasmanian Devil, once found all over Australia but can now only be found in Tasmania. Leaving this wilderness region we make our way to Stanley to relax for the Night at the Seaview Inn Motel.

Day 8: Tuesday 19th November 2024 Burnie- Devonport- Spirit of Tasmania

This morning after breakfast we visit The Nut’ also discovering Highfield House. Enjoy a chairlift ride to the top of the ‘Nut’ (at own expense) to capture the superb coastal sights. Then its off to Burnie for your lunch break before we make our way to Hellyers Distillery for a visit and taste. We then travel along the scenic coast road via Penguin to Devonport for dinner before we board the Spirit of Tasmania for our Overnight journey to Melbourne.

Day 9: Wednesday 20th November 2024 Spirit of Tasmania- Melbourne- Home

A chance to enjoy the views across Port Phillip Bay this morning as the Spirit of Tasmania berths at Corio Quay Road, North Geelong. We rejoin our coach and head for home with a breakfast stop en-route. Time for morning tea, farewells and to reflect on all the magnificent Highlights of Tasmania.

Balance is by Tuesday 1st October ‘24 Full payment is required if booking after the above date.

Accommodation Preferred: –   Twin / Double / Single / Triple / Willing to Share (if we are unable to find someone for you to share with then Single Supplement will apply). *Please Note: For all ‘Will Share’ Passengers we will endeavour to find another single traveller of the same gender with whom you can   share a room.  In the event that either passenger finds they are not compatible they will each have to pay for a single room option, if available. If we are unable to find another single traveller to share then SINGLE SUPPLEMENT WILL APPLY. Will Share is not available after the balance date.

FREE PASSENGER PICKUP & RETURN SERVICE: For the convenience of all our passengers CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL provide Free Passenger Pickup & Return Service from all major Towns in North, North-East, Central Victoria & Southern NSW.  (For Example:  Albury, Wodonga, Wangaratta, Benalla, Seymour, Bendigo, Finley, Kerang, Echuca, Deniliquin, Yarrawonga, Corowa, and towns within these areas). For Passenger’s who live outside these areas Cardwell’s provide Free Overnight accommodation, which includes a Dinner Voucher & Breakfast, the night prior to the tour departure in Numurkah and ‘Free lock up car storage’ at our depot.

CANCELLATION POLICY: To cover the costs involved the following cancellation fees apply.  Notice given before Balance Due Date or more $25 per person Administration Fee and any payments made on your behalf to a third party will not be refunded.  After the Balance Due Date or once tour has departed No Refund will be given.

FARES & ITINERARIES: CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL costs published & outlined in the brochure are frozen, errors or printing mistakes are subject to correction. However, policy changes by rail/air/sea operators or changes in Government duties or taxes are outside the control of CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL. Air fares and other discount travel arrangements may be subject to availability of seats/berths, as determined by transport companies.  No increases apply once full fare is paid. The Tour duration includes the day of departure and the day of return. Fares shown make no allowance for extra accommodation or transfers necessitated by en-route stop-overs caused by rail/air/boat schedules, strikes or other reasons.  Your Travel Agent will forward deposits and other payments to us on your behalf.  Receipt of deposits and also subsequent payments by the travel agent does not constitute receipts of those monies by us.  There is no liability on our part in respect of any monies paid to your Travel Agent unless and until we notify you (by way of Booking Confirmation Advice or Payment Receipt Advice) that monies have been received by us.  CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL reserves the right to cancel any ticket or booking or to refuse to carry any passenger where payment has not been received by CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL and has the right to accept wait listed passengers in place of those failing to finalise within the prescribed time.

ELIGIBILITY: No passenger will be permitted to embark or continue on the tour while their mental or physical condition is, in the opinion of CARDWELLS’ COACH TRAVEL, such as to render them incapable of caring for themselves, or they become objectionable to other passengers.  However, any person/s who cannot travel independently or needs special assistance must be accompanied by a companion.

ITINERARY CHANGES: Itineraries, tours and cruises are subject to alteration with or without notice and intended as a guide only.  Alterations may come about due to road or weather conditions, strikes, non-performance by a supplier or any other reasons CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL act in your best interest in any such changes.

FUEL SURCHARGE: Due to the instability of world oil prices, in the event that fuel reaches $2.00/litre a Fuel Surcharge of $5/person per day will apply to the final payment.  Subject to change.

SEAT CHANGES: A seat rotation system everyday ensures that all passengers have the opportunity to enjoy similar seating arrangements.

LUGGAGE: One medium suitcase per person, not exceeding 20kg (42lbs) and one carry bag for inside the coach.  Over limit luggage cannot be carried.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: We can arrange for passengers to take out travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances which may arise (including cancellation fees, medical & curtailment expenses, loss of luggage, early departure from tour due to death or illness etc.)  Ask our friendly staff at Cardwell’s Coach Travel or your Travel Agent for details at time of booking.
FORCE MAJEURE: If by any means of any event of force majeure (which shall include terrorism, pandemic or any cause or event outside our control) we shall be delayed in or prevented from performing our obligations, then such delay or non-performance shall not be deemed a breach or entitle a damages claim. Our obligations shall be suspended whilst such event of force majeure continues. New Terms & Conditions will apply.
