Itinerary

Day 1 - Sunday 18th August 2024

All aboard! Today we make our way down to Melbourne Airport. Go through airport formalities and fly to Perth. We settle in for a two nights stay at The Hyatt Perth. (or similar)

Day 2 - Monday 19th August 2024

After Breakfast this morning! Today we spend an exciting day out exploring the Yanchep and Nambung National Parkes, Cervantes and the Mystical Pinnacles Desert and finally the beautiful Swan Valley. Explore north of Perth and take an exciting full-day tour by coach to the world renowned Pinnacle Desert, an amazing moon landscape. Stop at the Yanchep National Park, to see Koalas and Kangaroos. From there, take an easy paced walk through the fascinating landscape, giving you the opportunity to explore this mystical place, before journeying to one of Perth's coastal towns, Cervantes, to enjoy fish and chips, where you will also gain a greater understanding of the local fishing industry. After experiencing the wonders of two national parks, get a chance to sample some of the regions famed providores in the Swan Valley on this easy going day. We then return to our motel for dinner and a good sleep.

Day 3 - Tuesday 20th August 2024

This morning, following breakfast, we catch our flight from Perth to Christmas Island. Rising majestically from the tropical depths of the vast Indian ocean, and surrounded by azure waters lies a stunning Natural Wonder: its name alone is intriguing and stirs interest. We invite you to uncover the remarkable surprises of this island full of natural wonders: from the unique red crabs to rare and unusual birds and glorious deserted beaches. The island displays a curious amalgam of cultures, history and industry, emerging as a place where all these elements create a truly unusual travel experience. We stay at the Swell Lodge for the next three nights. Swell Lodge, located on Christmas Island, is one of Australia’s best kept secrets. This stunning property consists of just two modern, glass-fronted luxury eco-chalets overlooking the ocean and backing onto the jungle.

Day 4 -5 - Wednesday 21st & Thursday 22nd August 2024 (all inclusive)

All stays at Swell Lodge are all-inclusive with airport pickups, daily guided activities tailored to suit your needs, Wi-Fi, Spotify, complimentary snorkel gear, all meals and unlimited drinks – even a private chef who comes to cook gourmet cuisine using fresh local ingredients right on your ocean deck. From the moment you step off the plane and meet your guide, all your needs will be taken care of. Your daily guided activities will depend on the length of your stay, but may include jungle walks to refreshing waterfalls, secluded beaches, lookouts, natural rock pools, blowholes, plenty of crabs, amazing birdlife, caves you can swim in, Parks bird feeding, cove snorkels – even a snorkel boat charter out to look for dolphins, giant trevally and in the right season, even whale sharks. Christmas Island is incredibly diverse and you’ll never run out of things to do!

Day 6 - Friday 23rd August 2024

We enjoy our last breakfast at Swell Lodge and squeeze every moment out of our final day, before transferring to the airport for our flight to Perth. On arrival in Perth we check in to The Hyatt Perth for the next two nights.

Day 7 - Saturday 24th August 2024

We awake this morning, refreshed and ready to continue our adventure. Today we delight in the Rottnest Island Train & Tunnel Tour. Rottnest Island is the "Emerald Isle in a Sea of Sapphire”, only 19km off the mainland coast promising to leave a lasting impression. Enhance your Rottnest experience with this unique offering of a historic train ride and a behind the scenes tour of Rottnest’s little known WWII fortifications. (Please note - Accessing the historic Oliver Hill Guns and Tunnels attraction involves multiple sections of stair and stone steps, up to 60 in total so an ability to manage steps is essential). We then return to our motel for a lovely dinner and a restful sleep.

Day 8 - Sunday 25th August 2024

This morning we make our way to the airport for our flight back to Melbourne. On arrival in Melbourne we will be met by a Cardwell’s representative who will return you to your respective destinations, after an enjoyable holiday.

Tour Terms and Conditions:

FREE PASSENGER PICKUP & RETURN SERVICE: For the convenience of all our passengers CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL provide Free Passenger Pickup & Return Service from all major Towns in North, North-East, Central Victoria & Southern NSW.  (For Example:  Albury, Wodonga, Wangaratta, Benalla, Seymour, Bendigo, Finley, Kerang, Echuca, Deniliquin, Yarrawonga, Corowa, and towns within these areas). For Passenger’s who live outside these areas Cardwell’s provide Overnight accommodation in Numurkah and ‘Free lock up car storage’ at our Numurkah depot.

CANCELLATION POLICY: To cover the costs involved the following cancellation fees apply.  Notice given 42 days or more $25 per person Administration Fee and monies that have been paid on your behalf will not be refunded. Under 42 days or once tour has departed No Refund will be given.

FARES & ITINERARIES: CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL costs published & outlined in the brochure are frozen, errors or printing mistakes are subject to correction. However, policy changes by rail/air/sea operators or changes in Government duties or taxes are outside the control of CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL. Air fares and other discount travel arrangements may be subject to availability of seats/berths, as determined by transport companies.  No increases apply once full fare is paid. The Tour duration includes the day of departure and the day of return. Fares shown make no allowance for extra accommodation or transfers necessitated by en-route stop-overs caused by rail/air/boat schedules, strikes or other reasons. Your Travel Agent will forward deposits and other payments to us on your behalf.  Receipt of deposits and also subsequent payments by the travel agent does not constitute receipts of those monies by us.  There is no liability on our part in respect of any monies paid to your Travel Agent unless and until we notify you (by way of Booking Confirmation Advice or Payment Receipt Advice) that monies have been received by us.  CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL reserves the right to cancel any ticket or booking or to refuse to carry any passenger where payment has not been received by CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL and has the right to accept wait listed passengers in place of those failing to finalise within the prescribed time.

ELIGIBILITY: No passenger will be permitted to embark or continue on the tour while their mental or physical condition is, in the opinion of CARDWELLS’ COACH TRAVEL, such as to render them incapable of caring for themselves, or they become objectionable to other passengers.  However, any person/s who cannot travel independently or needs special assistance must be accompanied by a companion.

ITINERARY CHANGES: Itineraries, tours and cruises are subject to alteration with or without notice and intended as a guide only.  Alterations may come about due to road or weather conditions, strikes, non-performance by a supplier or any other reasons CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL act in your best interest in any such changes.

FUEL SURCHARGE: Due to the instability of world oil prices, in the event that fuel reaches $2.00/litre a Fuel Surcharge of $5/person per day will apply to the final payment. Subject to change.

SEAT CHANGES: A seat rotation system everyday ensures that all passengers have the opportunity to enjoy similar seating arrangements.

LUGGAGE: One medium suitcase per person, not exceeding 20kg (42lbs) and one carry bag for inside the coach.  Over limit luggage cannot be carried.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: We can arrange for passengers to take out travel insurance to cover any unforseen circumstances which may arise (including cancellation fees, medical & curtailment expenses, loss of luggage, early departure from tour due to death or illness etc.)  Ask your travel agent for details at time of booking.

FORCE MAJEURE: If by any means of any event of force majeure (which shall include terrorism, pandemic or any cause or event outside our control) we shall be delayed in or prevented from performing our obligations, then such delay or non-performance shall not be deemed a breach or entitle damages claim. Our obligations shall be suspended whilst such event of force majeure continues.
