Day 1 – Thursday 15th August 2024 TULLAMARINE – MELBOURNE

Welcome aboard our scenic West Coast Spectacular Tour. This afternoon We fly from Melbourne to Darwin. The Next Three Nights are at the Vibe Hotel , Darwin.

Day 2 – Friday 16th August ‘24 FREE DAY TO RELAX OR EXPLORE

After breakfast enjoy a free day in Darwin. The motel is centrally located so maybe try some “retail therapy” in the local shops, look around the city or make your own plans. Tonight’s dinner is at the motel.

Day 3 – Saturday 17th August ‘24 EXPLORE DARWIN – SUNSET DINNER CRUISE

Today we explore Darwin taking in all its highlights. See Fannie Bay and visit the Darwin Museum, a unique complex showing the life and history of Northern Territory. We inspect the World War II gun emplacements at East Point, and enjoy the beautiful Botanic Gardens. This evening we end our day with a memorable Sunset Dinner Cruise on Darwin Harbour.

We farewell Darwin this morning and enjoy a visit to the Territory Wildlife Park. See the native wildlife in its natural habitat, unique to the Northern Territory. We make a visit to the Adelaide River War Cemetery before continuing on to Pine Creek an old gold mining town with a unique history. We then continue on to Katherine. Our Overnight Stay is at the Pine Tree Motel.

Day 5 – Monday 19th August ‘24 ORD RIVER – KUNUNURRA

Leaving Katherine this morning we travel along to Victoria River. Continue through the tiny settlement of Timber Creek before crossing the Western Australian border into the East Kimberley Region. We tour the irrigation area of Kununurra a result of the Ord River scheme. We enjoy the Next Two Nights at the Kununurra Lakeside Resort.

Day 6 – Tuesday 20th August ‘24 EXPLORE KUNUNURRA – BUNGLE BUNGLES

An early morning spectacular scenic flight over the lost world of the Bungle Bungles, with their tiger-striped, beehive shaped domes. View the Ord River Scheme, Ord River Irrigation area and Lake Argyle, with a capacity nine times Sydney Harbour. We return to our motel for breakfast. We then discover Kununurra and surrounds before we head out to the Lake Argyle Tourist Village for lunch stopping at the Durack Homestead enroute. Then a real highlight as we cruise the majestic Ord River to Kununurra and discover the regions wildlife and unique sandstone formations. After the cruise we travel back to the motel with time to freshen up before dinner.

Day 7 – Wednesday 21st August ‘24 KUNUNURRA – FITZROY CROSSING

Departing Kununurra this morning we join the Great Northern Highway heading south we visit Wyndham and see the spectacular lookout viewing where Five Rivers meet spilling into the Cambridge Gulf. We then travel to Turkey Creek Roadhouse before continuing on to Halls Creek on the edge of the Great Sandy Desert. Our Overnight Stay is at the Halls Creek Motel.

Day 8 – Thursday 22nd August ‘24 GEIKE GORGE CRUISE – FITZROY RIVER

Today we make our way to Fitzroy River for lunch. This Afternoon we enjoy the spectacular Geike Gorge Cruise, it is among one of the most colourful and historic gorges in northern Australia. See the Fossilised Barrier Reef, where the Fitzroy River has carved its path over 300 million years. View the bird life and maybe see some fresh water crocodiles. We settle in for our Overnight Stay at the Fitzroy River Lodge (Glamping in Safari Tents – Ensuited).

Day 9 – Friday 23rd August ‘24 FITZROY RIVER – BROOME

A relaxing start today as we travel to Derby, see the Old Derby Gaol and famous Derby Jetty with the highest tidal range in Australia. See the 1000 year old Boab Prison Tree before we continue on to Broome, follow the Great Northern Highway past huge Cattle Stations and small settlements. Today with increasing tourism, Broome is rapidly expanding into the most populous town in the Kimberley. We spend the Next Two Nights at the Oaks Broome or similar.

Day 10 – Saturday 24th August ‘24 DISCOVER BROOME – CABLE BEACH

Enjoy a leisurely start this morning and discover Broome renowned as ‘The Pearl of the West’. See Chinatown, a reminder of the town’s multi-cultural history, and Streeters Jetty, where the old pearl luggers unloaded their pearl shell. Visit the unique Pearl divers Cemetery. Broome still produces a large percentage of the worlds pearls. Explore the home of the Pearl of Western Australia with the award-winning Willie Creek Pearl Farm Tour. This tour gives a unique insight into the fascinating process of modern cultured pearl farming. Discover exactly what makes the perfect pearl and leave Willie Creek a pearling expert. The journey starts with the collection and spawning of oysters, in Willie Creek’s state of-the-art hatchery. Learn about the pearl technicians’ delicate operation of seeding and harvesting oysters. Be guided through the process of valuing pearls and gain an insight into the creation of stunning jewellery. This tour includes a cruise through azure waters. Gain an insight into the farming operations on the water, having the unique opportunity to view live oysters suspended in their natural environment, amongst native flora and fauna. Later you can enjoy a walk along Cable Beach, with its brilliant turquoise water and magnificent white sands.

Day 11 – Sunday 25th August ‘24 CABLE BEACH – KARRATHA

This morning we have a long day of travel ahead of us. We pass through some of the most sparsely populated and remote areas in Australia, and view the Eighty Mile Beach. For the next two nights we stay in Karratha at the Karrath International Motel.

Day 12 – Monday 26th August ‘24 KARRATHA

This morning we enjoy a free morning to rest up from the previous long day of travel. This afternoon we take a tour of the North West Shelf Visitors Centre, Parker Point Iron Ore Load Out Facilities and the Salt Works at nearby Dampier. We then return to our motel for dinner.

Day 13 – Tuesday 27th August ‘24 NEWMAN

Today we travel back up the North West Coastal Highway to the Great Northern Highway traveling to the Auski Roadhouse where we have our lunch break. We then continue onto Newman, the largest inland town in the Pilbara, it is a modern, attractive mining town in the heart of the Ophthalmia Ranges. Overnight Stay at the All Seasons, Newman.

Day 14 – Wednesday 28th August ‘24 TOM PRICE – KARJINI NATIONAL PARK

This morning we enjoy a guided tour of the Newman Open Cut Mine. Please Note: ALL passengers must wear long sleeve shirt/top, long pants & fully covered in shoes This afternoon we discover Karijini National Park (Hamersley Ranges) visit Dales Gorge and see the picturesque Fortesque Falls. We call into the New Visitors Centre before enjoying views from Oxers Lookout which overlooks the magnificent Red, Weano, Joffre and Hancock Gorges. We stay overnight at the Tom Price Hotel Motel.

Day 15 – Thursday 29th August ‘24 TOM PRICE – EXMOUTH

This morning we head through to Nanutarra situated on the Ashburton River for lunch. Continue through Giralia Station, before arriving at the maritime town of Exmouth for our Overnight Stay at the Potshot Hotel, Exmouth.

Day 16 – Friday 30th August ‘24 CORAL BAY REEF CRUISE – CARNARVON

Exmouth is one of the newest towns in Australia, founded in 1967 and excellent year round fishing has made it a main tourist attraction destination. This morning we visit Vlaming Head Lighthouse Lookout before travelling onto Coral Bay, gateway to Ningaloo Marine Park and enjoy a cruise of the beautiful Coral Reef in a glass bottom boat. Continue on through vast pastoral holdings before crossing the usually dry Gascoyne River into Carnarvon, an oasis of tropical fruits, vegetables and bougainvillea’s galore. See the fishing boat harbour and the One Mile Jetty. We settle in for our Overnight Stay at the Carnarvon Motel.

Day 17 – Saturday 31st August ‘24 CARNARVON – SHARK BAY

Explore World Heritage Shark Bay Marine Park. See the world’s oldest known living organisms, the Stramatolites, dated at 3.5 billion years old. We visit Shell Beach, where thousands of tiny shells line the clear water’s edge. Then along the Peron Peninsula, located on the state’s most westerly point, to our Overnight Stay at the Heritage Resort Shark Bay.

Day 18 – Sunday 1st September ‘24 MONKEY MIA DOLPHINS – KALBARRI NP

This morning you can interact with the bottlenose dolphins of Monkey Mia (subject to appearance) before travelling further south with its impressive landscapes to Kalbarri National Park. Visit Hawk’s Head Lookout, enjoy spectacular views of Murchison River, one of the state’s most extensive river systems. The red and white banded escarpment walls have been formed over millions of years, as the ocean carved its way inland. Continue to Kalbarrri where we enjoy its picturesque seaside views and take a short drive to Red Bluff with its spectacular scenery. We settle in for our Overnight stay at the The Edge Resort Kalbarri

Day 19 – Monday 2nd September ‘24 GERALDTON

Today we travel to and explore Geraldton, a port and administration centre for the mid west area. We visit the HMAS Sydney memorial. Our Overnight stay is at the Ocean Centre Hotel Geraldton.

Day 20 – Tuesday 3rd September ‘24 THE PINNACLES – PERTH

This morning we marvel at the amazing moonscape of coloured quartz with the fantastic limestone pillars that make up “The Pinnacles”. Be sure to bring your camera. Continue through the Swan Valley vineyards arriving in the beautiful city of Perth and settle in for the Next Two Nights at the Hyatt Regency, Perth.

Day 21 – Wednesday 4th September ‘24 PERTH CITY SIGHTS

This morning we enjoy a city sights tour of Perth, including the Botanical Gardens and Kings Park with its magnificent views of the city and Swan River. Enjoy Dinner tonight after a most relaxing day.

Day 22 – Thursday 5th September‘24 MORNING FLIGHT HOME

This morning we transfer to the Perth Airport for our return flight to Melbourne. We will be met by one of Cardwell’s staff and returned to our respective destinations at the conclusion of a most enjoyable tour of the West Coast of Australia.

Accommodation Preferred: –   Twin / Double / Single / Triple / Will Share – Passengers who are willing to share with other passengers. *Please Note: For all ‘Will Share’ Passengers we will endeavour to find another single traveller of the same gender with whom you can share a room, if we are unable, single supplement will apply. In the event that either passenger finds they are not compatible they will each have to pay for a single room option, if available.

FREE PASSENGER PICKUP & RETURN SERVICE: For the convenience of all our passengers CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL provide Free Passenger Pickup & Return Service from all major Towns in North, North-East, Central Victoria & Southern NSW.  (For Example:  Albury, Wodonga, Wangaratta, Benalla, Seymour, Bendigo, Finley, Kerang, Echuca, Deniliquin, Yarrawonga, Corowa, and towns within these areas).

For Passenger’s who live outside these areas Cardwell’s provide Overnight accommodation in Numurkah and ‘Free lock up car storage’ at our Numurkah depot.

CANCELLATION POLICY: To cover the costs involved the following cancellation fees apply.  Notice given 42 days or more $25 per person Administration Fee and monies that have been paid on your behalf will not be refunded. Under 42 days or once tour has departed No Refund will be given.

FARES & ITINERARIES: CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL costs published & outlined in the brochure are frozen, errors or printing mistakes are subject to correction. However, policy changes by rail/air/sea operators or changes in Government duties or taxes are outside the control of CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL. Air fares and other discount travel arrangements may be subject to availability of seats/berths, as determined by transport companies.  No increases apply once full fare is paid.

The Tour duration includes the day of departure and the day of return.

Fares shown make no allowance for extra accommodation or transfers necessitated by en-route stop-overs caused by rail/air/boat schedules, strikes or other reasons.

Your Travel Agent will forward deposits and other payments to us on your behalf.  Receipt of deposits and also subsequent payments by the travel agent does not constitute receipts of those monies by us.  There is no liability on our part in respect of any monies paid to your Travel Agent unless and until we notify you (by way of Booking Confirmation Advice or Payment Receipt Advice) that monies have been received by us.  CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL reserves the right to cancel any ticket or booking or to refuse to carry any passenger where payment has not been received by CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL and has the right to accept wait listed passengers in place of those failing to finalise within the prescribed time.

ELIGIBILITY: No passenger will be permitted to embark or continue on the tour while their mental or physical condition is, in the opinion of CARDWELLS’ COACH TRAVEL, such as to render them incapable of caring for themselves, or they become objectionable to other passengers.  However, any person/s who cannot travel independently or needs special assistance must be accompanied by a companion.

ITINERARY CHANGES:  Itineraries, tours and cruises are subject to alteration with or without notice and intended as a guide only.  Alterations may come about due to road or weather conditions, strikes, non-performance by a supplier or any other reasons CARDWELL’S COACH TRAVEL act in your best interest in any such changes.

FUEL SURCHARGEDue to the instability of world oil prices, in the event that fuel reaches $2.00/litre a Fuel Surcharge of $5/person per day will apply to the final payment. Subject to change.

SEAT CHANGESA seat rotation system everyday ensures that all passengers have the opportunity to enjoy similar seating arrangements.

LUGGAGEOne medium suitcase per person, not exceeding 20kg (42lbs) and one carry bag for inside the coach.  Over limit luggage cannot be carried.

TRAVEL INSURANCEWe can arrange for passengers to take out travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances which may arise (including cancellation fees, medical & curtailment expenses, loss of luggage, early departure from tour due to death or illness etc.)  Ask your travel agent for details at time of booking.

FORCE MAJEURE: If by any means of any event of force majeure (which shall include terrorism, pandemic or any cause or event outside our control) we shall be delayed in or prevented from performing our obligations, then such delay or non-performance shall not be deemed a breach or entitle damages claim. Our obligations shall be suspended whilst such event of force majeure continues. New Terms & Conditions will apply.
